Education technology: A student’s perspective — from ISTE by Sierra Reed

The exciting prospect in the future is that it seems more and more that education will include more technology over time. As such; using computer games for testing, but over a long period of time, more updated research on the computer rather than old information from textbooks; which, is even more the case for poor schools. Tablets for translating handwriting and foreign languages into text during class in K-12 education.

Coming to the conference gave me insights on how HP works and how education could be better if people work at it. I am very appreciative that I could come.

Looking back at Learning Technologies 2010 — from Hans de Zwart

“A couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure of attending the 2010 Learning Technologies Exhibition in London. In many ways this event is very similar to the Online Educa in Berlin (e.g. most Berlin exhibitors were in London too and the conferences shared a keynote speaker). There are two main differences: Learning Technologies seems to draw a slightly less international crowd and it focuses more on the world of corporate learning.     2010 NMC Symposium on New Media and Learning — New Media Consortium

    The 2010 NMC Symposium on New Media and Learning, the fifteenth in the NMC’s Series of Virtual Symposia, will explore the impact of new media on teaching, learning, research, and creative expression, especially in higher education. New media, for this event, is interpreted broadly as anything from creative uses of digital media and new forms of communication to alternative publishing methods and media-rich tools. The Symposium seeks to explore new media in the context of a current social phenomenon and not simply as a means of content delivery.

    Join keynote speakers Joe Lambert of the Center for Digital Storytelling and Constance Steinkuehler of the University of Wisconsin–Madison in sessions that delve into topics from educational gaming to telling deeply compelling stories using digital media. The annual Symposium on New Media and Learning is a conversation about the most vital and relevant applications of new media for education.
