AACC expands efforts to retrain older learners — from communitycollegetimes.com by Times Staff
Excerpt:
A national program initially focused on preparing learners age 50 and older to attain skills for new careers is shifting gears and helping those adults complete college degrees or certificates to improve their opportunities to find better-paying jobs.
The Plus 50 Completion Strategy, a project of the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC), is aimed at baby boomers who started college and began working toward a degree or certificate but didn’t finish. The new completion effort builds on AACC’s Plus 50 Initiative, which over the last three years has helped colleges improve services and support for adults age 50 and older.
