Federal jobs are disappearing, and the administration is eliminating grants and agency divisions that sustain university research programs and nonprofits that are crucial to launching careers.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">The National Science Foundation, for example,\u00a0halved\u00a0graduate research fellowships,\u00a0canceled\u00a0some undergraduate research grants,\u00a0stopped\u00a0awarding new grants,\u00a0froze funding\u00a0for existing ones, and\u00a0eliminated\u00a0several hundred grants for focusing on diversity, equity and inclusion. In March, Robert F.
