Google is also among a number of companies facing scrutiny over the role their internet services played in Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.<\/p>\n<p class=\"story-body-text story-content\" style=\"padding-left: 30px;\" data-para-count=\"340\" data-total-count=\"1273\">Sundar Pichai, Google\u2019s chief executive, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.blog.google\/topics\/causes-community\/opportunity-for-everyone\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">unveiled the initiative<\/a> during a speech on Thursday in the company\u2019s Pittsburgh office, far from the search giant\u2019s Silicon Valley headquarters.
