Around 2,000 years ago, this was not a Good Friday for the LORD.\u00a0 But for us, looking back on His resurrection, it is a Good Friday — as He paid the price for our sins.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

As it is written in<\/span> Isaiah Chapter 53<\/a>:<\/span><\/p>\n

Surely he took up our pain<\/span>
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>and bore our suffering,<\/span><\/span>
\nyet we considered him punished by God,<\/span>
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>stricken by him, and afflicted.<\/span><\/span>
\n5\u00a0<\/sup>But he was pierced for our transgressions,<\/span>
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>he was crushed for our iniquities;<\/span><\/span>
\nthe punishment that brought us peace was on him,<\/span>
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>and by his wounds we are healed.<\/span><\/span>
\n6\u00a0<\/sup>We all, like sheep, have gone astray,<\/span>
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>each of us has turned to our own way;<\/span><\/span>
\nand the Lord<\/span> has laid on him<\/span>
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>the iniquity of us all.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Isaiah Chapter 53 (NIV version) in its entirety reads:<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

53\u00a0<\/span>Who has believed our message<\/span><\/span>
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>and to whom has the arm of the Lord<\/span> been revealed?<\/span><\/span>
\n2\u00a0<\/sup>He grew up before him like a tender shoot,<\/span>
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>and like a root out of dry ground.<\/span><\/span>
\nHe had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him,<\/span>
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>nothing in his appearance that we should desire him.<\/span><\/span>
\n3\u00a0<\/sup>He was despised and rejected by mankind,<\/span>
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>a man of suffering, and familiar with pain.<\/span><\/span>
\nLike one from whom people hide their faces<\/span>
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>he was despised, and we held him in low esteem.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>and as a sheep before its shearers is silent,<\/span><\/span>
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>so he did not open his mouth.<\/span><\/span>
\n8\u00a0<\/sup>By oppression[a<\/a>]<\/sup> and judgment he was taken away.<\/span>
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>Yet who of his generation protested?<\/span><\/span>
\nFor he was cut off from the land of the living;<\/span>
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>for the transgression of my people he was punished.[b<\/a>]<\/sup><\/span><\/span>
\n9\u00a0<\/sup>He was assigned a grave with the wicked,<\/span>
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>and with the rich in his death,<\/span><\/span>
\nthough he had done no violence,<\/span>
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>nor was any deceit in his mouth.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

10\u00a0<\/sup>Yet it was the Lord<\/span>\u2019s will to crush him and cause him to suffer,<\/span>
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>and though the Lord<\/span> makes[c<\/a>]<\/sup> his life an offering for sin,<\/span><\/span>
\nhe will see his offspring and prolong his days,<\/span>
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>and the will of the Lord<\/span> will prosper in his hand.<\/span><\/span>
\n11\u00a0<\/sup>After he has suffered,<\/span>
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>he will see the light of life[d<\/a>]<\/sup> and be satisfied[e<\/a>]<\/sup>;<\/span><\/span>
\nby his knowledge[f<\/a>]<\/sup> my righteous servant will justify many,<\/span>
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>and he will bear their iniquities.<\/span><\/span>
\n12\u00a0<\/sup>Therefore I will give him a portion among the great,[g<\/a>]<\/sup><\/span>
