{"id":47349,"date":"2014-09-05T07:49:08","date_gmt":"2014-09-05T11:49:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/danielschristian.com\/learning-ecosystems\/?p=47349"},"modified":"2014-09-08T08:57:32","modified_gmt":"2014-09-08T12:57:32","slug":"faithbelief-the-fuel-for-action-on-our-part-and-gods-part","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/danielschristian.com\/learning-ecosystems\/2014\/09\/05\/faithbelief-the-fuel-for-action-on-our-part-and-gods-part\/","title":{"rendered":"Faith\/belief &#8212; the fuel for action (on our part and God&#8217;s part)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><em>From DSC:<\/em><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800000;\">Here are two really interesting pieces of scripture.\u00a0 Seldomly do I read where<em> the LORD Himself<\/em> is amazed by something.\u00a0 But note <em>His<\/em> being amazed in these cases &#8212; and they both involve the topic of <strong>faith<\/strong> (one on the negative side of things and one on the positive side of things; <em>emphasis mine<\/em>):<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Mark+6%3A4-6&amp;version=NIV\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Mark 6:4-6<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span id=\"en-NIV-24412\" class=\"text Mark-6-4\"><sup class=\"versenum\">4\u00a0<\/sup>Jesus said to them, <span class=\"woj\">\u201cA prophet is not without honor except in his own town, among his relatives and in his own home.\u201d<\/span><\/span> <span id=\"en-NIV-24413\" class=\"text Mark-6-5\"><sup class=\"versenum\">5\u00a0<\/sup><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>He could not do any miracles there<\/strong>, except lay his hands on a few sick people and heal them.<\/span><\/span><span id=\"en-NIV-24414\" class=\"text Mark-6-6\" style=\"color: #800000;\"> <sup class=\"versenum\">6\u00a0<\/sup><strong>He was amazed at their lack of faith.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Luke+7:8-10&amp;version=NIV\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Luke 7:8-10<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">8 For I myself am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. I tell this one, \u2018Go,\u2019 and he goes; and that one, \u2018Come,\u2019 and he comes. I say to my servant, \u2018Do this,\u2019 and he does it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">9 <strong><span style=\"color: #800000;\">When Jesus heard this, he was amazed at him,<\/span><\/strong> and turning to the crowd following him, he said, \u201c<span style=\"color: #800000;\">I tell you, I have not found such<strong> great faith<\/strong> even in Israel<\/span>.\u201d 10 Then the men who had been sent returned to the house and <strong><span style=\"color: #800000;\">found the servant well.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>Other examples from scripture:<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Hebrews+11%3A1&amp;version=NIV\" target=\"_blank\"><strong><span class=\"text Heb-11-1\">Hebrews 11:1<\/span><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span class=\"text Heb-11-1\">Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Galatians+3%3A5&amp;version=NIV\" target=\"_blank\">Galatians 3:5<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span id=\"en-NIV-29108\" class=\"text Gal-3-5\">So again I ask, does God give you his Spirit and work miracles among you by the works of the law, <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>or by your believing what you heard<\/strong>?<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=luke+17%3A19&amp;version=NIV\" target=\"_blank\">Luke 17:19<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Then he said to him, <span class=\"woj\">\u201cRise and go; <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>your faith has made you well.\u201d<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Mark+5%3A24-34&amp;version=NIV\" target=\"_blank\"><strong><span class=\"passage-display-bcv\">Mark 5:24-34<\/span><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span class=\"text Mark-5-24\">A large crowd followed and pressed around him.<\/span> <span id=\"en-NIV-24390\" class=\"text Mark-5-25\"><sup class=\"versenum\">25\u00a0<\/sup>And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years.<\/span> <span id=\"en-NIV-24391\" class=\"text Mark-5-26\"><sup class=\"versenum\">26\u00a0<\/sup>She had suffered a great deal under the care of many doctors and had spent all she had, yet instead of getting better she grew worse.<\/span> <span id=\"en-NIV-24392\" class=\"text Mark-5-27\"><sup class=\"versenum\">27\u00a0<\/sup>When she heard about Jesus, she came up behind him in the crowd and touched his cloak,<\/span> <span id=\"en-NIV-24393\" class=\"text Mark-5-28\"><sup class=\"versenum\">28\u00a0<\/sup>because she thought, \u201cIf I just touch his clothes, I will be healed.\u201d<\/span> <span id=\"en-NIV-24394\" class=\"text Mark-5-29\"><sup class=\"versenum\">29\u00a0<\/sup>Immediately her bleeding stopped and she felt in her body that she was freed from her suffering.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span id=\"en-NIV-24395\" class=\"text Mark-5-30\"><sup class=\"versenum\">30\u00a0<\/sup>At once <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>Jesus realized that power had gone out from him<\/strong><\/span>. He turned around in the crowd and asked, <span class=\"woj\">\u201cWho touched my clothes?\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span id=\"en-NIV-24396\" class=\"text Mark-5-31\"><sup class=\"versenum\">31\u00a0<\/sup>\u201cYou see the people crowding against you,\u201d his disciples answered, \u201cand yet you can ask, <span class=\"woj\">\u2018Who touched me?\u2019<\/span> \u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span id=\"en-NIV-24397\" class=\"text Mark-5-32\"><sup class=\"versenum\">32\u00a0<\/sup>But Jesus kept looking around to see who had done it.<\/span> <span id=\"en-NIV-24398\" class=\"text Mark-5-33\"><sup class=\"versenum\">33\u00a0<\/sup>Then the woman, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell at his feet and, trembling with fear, told him the whole truth.<\/span> <span id=\"en-NIV-24399\" class=\"text Mark-5-34\"><sup class=\"versenum\">34\u00a0<\/sup>He said to her, <span class=\"woj\">\u201cDaughter, <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>your faith has healed you.<\/strong> <\/span>Go in peace and be freed from your suffering.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Luke+18%3A42-43&amp;version=NIV\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>\u00a0Luke 18:42-43<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span id=\"en-NIV-25731\" class=\"text Luke-18-42\"><sup class=\"versenum\">42\u00a0<\/sup>Jesus said to him, <span class=\"woj\">\u201cReceive your sight; <strong><span style=\"color: #800000;\">your faith has healed you.\u201d<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/span> <span id=\"en-NIV-25732\" class=\"text Luke-18-43\"><sup class=\"versenum\">43\u00a0<\/sup>Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus, praising God.
