But why?<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">The new report\u2014based on a survey of Internet users in the US and the UK, on as\u00adsessments from JWT planners around the world, and on in\u00adterviews with outside observers (myself includ\u00aded)\u2014lists six key reasons. Interestingly, only two have anything to do with advances in technology or production techniques. The re\u00admaining four stem from broad societal shifts\u2014shifts that are tied to, but in many cases a re\u00adaction against, the always-on nature of the digital world.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #e00000;\">From DSC:<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #e00000;\">Notice one of the first slides.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.deepmediaonline.com\/deepmedia\/2013\/12\/behind-the-immersiveness-trend-why-now.html\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-44021\" alt=\"ImmersiveExperiences-Dec182013\" src=\"http:\/\/danielschristian.com\/learning-ecosystems\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/ImmersiveExperiences-Dec182013.jpg\" width=\"548\" height=\"427\" srcset=\"https:\/\/danielschristian.com\/learning-ecosystems\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/ImmersiveExperiences-Dec182013.jpg 548w, https:\/\/danielschristian.com\/learning-ecosystems\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/ImmersiveExperiences-Dec182013-150x116.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 548px) 100vw, 548px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #e00000;\">It mentions the word <strong>attention.<\/strong> I submit to you that these types of immersive experiences will impact how easy it is or hard it is to get our students&#8217; attentions.\u00a0 If we can&#8217;t get our students&#8217; attentions, we have zero (0) chance of getting the information into their short term and\/or long term memories.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #e00000;\">This is why I&#8217;d like to see more transmedia-based storytelling and digital storytelling occurring within K-20.\u00a0 We should have students create the experiences using content taken directly from the course&#8217;s learning objectives.
