Here are some of the highlights from this year\u2019s list.\u00a0For a fuller analyis, visit\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/c4lpt.co.uk\/top100tools\/analysis-2013\/\">Analysis 2013<\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a title=\"1 \u2013 Twitter\" href=\"http:\/\/c4lpt.co.uk\/top100tools\/twitter\/\">Twitter<\/a>\u00a0retains its no 1 position for the 5<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0year running<\/li>\n<li><a title=\"2 \u2013 Google Drive\/Docs\" href=\"http:\/\/c4lpt.co.uk\/top100tools\/google-docsdrive\/\">Google Drive\/Docs<\/a>\u00a0moves up to #2.<\/li>\n<li><a title=\"5 \u2013 PowerPoint\" href=\"http:\/\/c4lpt.co.uk\/top100tools\/powerpoint\/\">PowerPoint<\/a>\u00a0moves up to #5.<\/li>\n<li><a title=\"Best of Breed 2012\" href=\"http:\/\/c4lpt.co.uk\/top100tools\/subscribe\">Evernote<\/a>\u00a0moves into the top 10 at #6.<\/li>\n<li><a title=\"10 \u2013 Google + \/Hangouts\" href=\"http:\/\/c4lpt.co.uk\/top100tools\/googleplu\/\">Google +\/Hangouts<\/a>\u00a0moves into the top 10 at #10.<\/li>\n<li>There are 10 new tools on the list topped by\u00a0<a title=\"19 \u2013 Feedly\" href=\"http:\/\/c4lpt.co.uk\/top100tools\/feedly\/\">Feedly<\/a>\u00a0(an RSS reader\/aggregator) at #19 and\u00a0<a title=\"38 \u2013 Coursera\" href=\"http:\/\/c4lpt.co.uk\/top100tools\/coursera\/\">Coursera<\/a>\u00a0(a MOOC platform) at #38, and 3 returning tools to the list,\u00a0including <a href=\"http:\/\/c4lpt.co.uk\/top100tools\/storify\">Storify<\/a>\u00a0at #58.<\/li>\n<li>The highest movers within the list are\u00a0<a title=\"43 \u2013 Skydrive\" href=\"http:\/\/c4lpt.co.uk\/top100tools\/skydrive\/\">Skydrive<\/a>\u00a0(Windows file storage area) at #43 up 55 places since last year, and\u00a0<a title=\"Best of Breed 2012\" href=\"http:\/\/c4lpt.co.uk\/top100tools\/subscribe\">Keynote<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a title=\"68 \u2013 iMovie\" href=\"http:\/\/c4lpt.co.uk\/top100tools\/imovie\/\">iMovie<\/a>\u00a0up 40 and 32 places respectively (showing the increase in popularity of Apple software).<\/li>\n<li>A significant descent down the list for some tools including\u00a0<a title=\"93 \u2013 Google Sites\" href=\"http:\/\/c4lpt.co.uk\/top100tools\/google-sites\/\">Google Sites<\/a>\u00a0(down 60 places) and\u00a0<a title=\"80 \u2013 Wikispaces\" href=\"http:\/\/c4lpt.co.uk\/top100tools\/wikispaces\/\">Wikispaces\u00a0<\/a>(down 50 places).<\/li>\n<li>Tools moving off the list include Google Reader (now retired by Google), Bing and Scribd.<\/li>\n<li>Although the list is still dominated by free online social tools, a number of e-learning authoring tools have had a good showing this year.<\/li>\n<li>As for trends over the last 5 years, it is interesting to note that\u00a0<a title=\"97 \u2013 Firefox and Add-ons\" href=\"http:\/\/c4lpt.co.uk\/top100tools\/firefox-and-add-ons\/\">Firefox<\/a>\u00a0(#1 in 2007) is now at #97 on the list, and\u00a0<a title=\"60 \u2013 Delicious\" href=\"http:\/\/c4lpt.co.uk\/top100tools\/delicious\/\">Delicious<\/a>\u00a0(#1 in 2008) is now at #60. \u00a0What will topple Twitter from the top of the list?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Here it is: The Top 100 Tools for Learning 2013 &#8212; from c4lpt.co.uk by Jane Hart Excerpt: The Top 100 Tools for Learning 2013 list (released today, 30 September 2013) was compiled from the votes of over 500 learning professionals (from education and workplace learning) from 48 countries.
