{"id":3298,"date":"2010-04-01T08:44:32","date_gmt":"2010-04-01T12:44:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/danielschristian.com\/learning-ecosystems\/?p=3298"},"modified":"2010-04-01T08:44:32","modified_gmt":"2010-04-01T12:44:32","slug":"the-future-of-the-internet-the-futurist","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/danielschristian.com\/learning-ecosystems\/2010\/04\/01\/the-future-of-the-internet-the-futurist\/","title":{"rendered":"The future of the Internet &#8212; the Futurist"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>=========================================<br \/>\nEXPERTS CONSIDER THE INTERNET&#8217;S FUTURE<br \/>\n=========================================<\/p>\n<p>Is the Internet making us smarter, stupider, more dependent on it, or<br \/>\nall of the above?<\/p>\n<p>The Pew Internet &amp; American Life Project and Elon University&#8217;s<br \/>\nImagining the Internet Center asked dozens of experts&#8211;such as Google<br \/>\nresearch director Peter Norvig, futurist blogger Jamais Cascio, and<br \/>\ntech watcher Esther Dyson&#8211;to consider the future of the Internet-<br \/>\nconnected world between now and 2020.<\/p>\n<p>Most of the experts agreed that the Internet will make us smarter in<br \/>\nsome way by 2020.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;In the coming years we will have to continue to teach people to think<br \/>\ncritically so they can better understand the wealth of information<br \/>\navailable to them,&#8221; said Jeska Dzwigalski of Linden Lab.<\/p>\n<p>Janna Quitney Anderson of Elon University and Lee Rainie of Pew<br \/>\nInternet &amp; American Life Center put the survey together.
