The sci-fi future may be closer than you think.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\"><strong>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Opinion from DSC:<\/span><\/strong><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800000;\">Technologies &#8212; by themselves &#8212; are neither good nor bad.\u00a0 It&#8217;s what we do with them that makes them good or bad. The concerns I have are when people try to play God.\u00a0\u00a0 His ways are higher than our ways, and his thoughts are higher than our thoughts. So when the <a href=\"http:\/\/robots.law.miami.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\">We Robot Conference<\/a> puts up a banner that would normally look like the hand of God touching a human hand &#8212; but in their case, they put a robot&#8217;s hand reaching out to touch a man&#8217;s hand &#8212; something just doesn&#8217;t set well with me re: that image. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Don&#8217;t get me wrong.\u00a0 I think robotics can be very helpful &#8212; especially in manufacturing, <a href=\"http:\/\/mashable.com\/2012\/03\/20\/saffir\/\" target=\"_blank\">fire safety<\/a>, other.\u00a0 But in some of the robotics space\/spheres of work, when we think we can &#8220;do better&#8221; than the LORD &#8212; to make a better mind than what He gave us\u00a0 &#8212; I get a bit nervous.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Also see: Who\u2019s responsible when robots kill? \u2018We Robot\u2019 Conference hunts answers\u00a0&#8212; from Mashable.com by Peter Pachal .
