The company\u2019s BlackBerry, which once owned 55% of the smartphone market, has now fallen to third place with less than a quarter share, according to comScore.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">To make matters worse, BlackBerry\u2019s share <a href=\"http:\/\/www.comscore.com\/Press_Events\/Press_Releases\/2011\/7\/comScore_Reports_May_2011_U.S._Mobile_Subscriber_Market_Share\" target=\"_blank\">seems to be falling pretty quickly<\/a>. In February, RIM was number two in the market with 28.9%, based on an average of the previous three months. By May, RIM\u2019s share <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2010\/07\/26\/business\/26views.html\" target=\"_blank\">had dropped<\/a> 4.2% to 24.7%, behind Apple\u2019s iOS with 26.6% and Google\u2019s Android platform with 38.1%.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>From DSC:<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800000;\">RIM did not innovate fast enough. They did not reinvent themselves as Apple has done, and now they are paying the price.
