However, Microsoft has some solid points about the positive and engaging learning experiences that come from the use of digital storytelling within the classroom.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333399;\">For me, digital storytelling:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #333399;\">Unleashes the creative powers of our students<br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #333399;\">Engages the students<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #333399;\">Allows students to specialize on what they are passionate about (digital audio, video, animations, graphics, other) and to collaborate to create a group-based project<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #333399;\">Allows students to create and participate (active learning)<br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #333399;\">Is a <em>powerful communication <\/em>mechanism (with the ability to enlist our emotions)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #333399;\">Has the potential &#8212; if well done &#8212; for more sticking power (i.e. we remember stories better than many other things)<br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/education\/teachers\/guides\/digital_storytelling.aspx\" target=\"blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-1574\" title=\"Microsoft-Digital-Storytelling\" src=\"http:\/\/danielschristian.com\/learning-ecosystems\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/Microsoft-Digital-Storytelling.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"559\" height=\"651\" srcset=\"https:\/\/danielschristian.com\/learning-ecosystems\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/Microsoft-Digital-Storytelling.jpg 559w, https:\/\/danielschristian.com\/learning-ecosystems\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/Microsoft-Digital-Storytelling-128x150.jpg 128w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 559px) 100vw, 559px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>From DSC: In terms of digital storytelling, I prefer using Apple&#8217;s iLife suite of tools along with some of the products from Adobe to develop the materials.
