The public senses it, too. Academic researchers themselves have been\u00a0making this argument for decades, but it has rarely felt more urgent than it does right now.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">The Yale report says, wisely, that \u201ctrust is earned by doing what you say you\u2019re going to do.\u201d Universities say they\u2019re about learning. The way to rebuild trust is to actually mean it and to build institutions that prove it.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong>The Yale committee is right that trust must be rebuilt through action over messaging.
