These conversation took place on the platform from January to September 2025, providing us with a window into if and how AI use in general \u2014 and AI use among learners specifically &#8211; has evolved in 2025.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Microsoft\u2019s mass behavioural data gives us a detailed, global glimpse into what learners are\u00a0<em>actually doing<\/em>\u00a0across devices, times of day and contexts. The picture that emerges is pretty clear and largely consistent with what OpenAI\u2019s told us back in the summer:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>AI isn\u2019t functioning primarily as an \u201canswers machine\u201d: the majority of us use AI as a tool to personalise and differentiate generic learning experiences and &#8211; ultimately &#8211; to augment human learning.<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Let\u2019s dive in!<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong>Learners don\u2019t \u201cdecide\u201d to use AI anymore. They assume it\u2019s there, like search, like spellcheck, like calculators. There are many agentic tools and platforms for AI tasks on the market, and the most effective approach is to focus on practical, high-impact workflows.
