Such a myopic perspective will do little to increase access to higher education. <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>Real change would require us to reckon with the history of standardized tests and how they have persistently disadvantaged large numbers of students, particularly students of color and students with disabilities.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong>One hundred years later, academic success is defined as the capacity to do well on a standardized test.
