deliver learning experiences<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Excerpts <span style=\"color: #800000;\">(emphasis DSC):<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #800000;\">This month, researchers from the University of Pennsylvania published<\/span>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.researchgate.net\/publication\/380329032\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">one of the biggest ever reviews of behaviour change efforts<\/a>\u00a0<span style=\"color: #800000;\">&#8211; i.e. interventions which do (and don\u2019t) lead to behavioural change in humans.<\/span><\/strong><br \/>\n&#8230;<br \/>\nResearch into human behaviour change suggests that, in order to impact capability in real, measurable terms, we need to rethink how we typically design and deliver training.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">The interventions which we use most frequently to behaviour change &#8211; such as video + quiz approaches and one off workshops &#8211; have a negligible impact on measurable changes in human behaviour.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>For learning professionals who want to change how their learners think and behave, this research shows conclusively the central importance of:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>Shifting attention away from the design of\u00a0<em>content<\/em>\u00a0to the design of\u00a0<em>context<\/em>.<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>Delivering sustained cycles of contextualised practice, support &amp;
