Here&#8217;s what to know about Web3.<\/strong><\/a> &#8212; from businessinsider.com by Katie Canales<\/p>\n<p><em>Excerpts <span style=\"color: #800000;\">(emphasis DSC):<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>Web3 is the next generation of the internet and will exist on the blockchain.<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li>It will be decentralized, meaning it won&#8217;t be controlled entities like Facebook or Google.<\/li>\n<li>Twitter, GameStop, Reddit, and VC firm a16z are all putting resources into building Web3.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">&#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #800000;\">One aspect of the metaverse\u00a0is that users will hopefully be able to go virtually from platform to platform with one single account \u2014 just like we will in Web3.\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #800000;\">And NFTs,\u00a0one-of-a-kind tokens representing your ownership of a virtual good, could be more easily bought and sold with cryptocurrencies within a space like Web3.\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><em>From DSC:<\/em><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>How might &#8220;Web3&#8221; translate into the future of lifelong learning? This type of next-generation learning platform would still need subject matter experts, instructional designers, programmers, and other team members.
