John the Baptist Prepares the Way<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

1\u00a0<\/span>The beginning of the good news about Jesus the Messiah,[a<\/a>]<\/sup>\u00a0the Son of God,[b<\/a>]<\/sup><\/span>2\u00a0<\/sup>as it is written in Isaiah the prophet:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI will send my messenger ahead of you,<\/span>
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>who will prepare your way\u201d[c<\/a>]<\/sup>\u2014<\/span><\/span>
\n3\u00a0<\/sup>\u201ca voice of one calling in the wilderness,<\/span>
\n\u2018Prepare the way for the Lord,<\/span>
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>make straight paths for him.\u2019\u201d[d<\/a>]<\/sup><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
