[Christian]"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em><span style=\"color: #800000;\">From DSC:<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800000;\">In terms of learning,<\/span><strong><span style=\"color: #800000;\"> having to be in the same physical place as others continues to not be a requirement nearly as much as it used to be. <\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #800000;\">But I&#8217;m not just talking about online learning here.<\/span><strong><span style=\"color: #800000;\"> I&#8217;m talking about a new type of learning environment that involves both hardware and software to facilitate collaboration<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #800000;\"> (and i<\/span><span style=\"color: #800000;\">t was designed that way from day 1). <\/span><span style=\"color: #800000;\">These new types of setups can <\/span><span style=\"color: #800000;\">provide us with new opportunities and affordances that we should begin experimenting with immediately.<\/span><strong><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Check out the following products &#8212; <strong>all of which allow a person to contribute to a discussion or conversation from anywhere they can get Internet access:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/bluescape.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Bluescape <\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.oblong.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Oblong<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.prysm.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Prysm<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/microsoft-surface-hub\/en-us\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Microsoft Surface Hub<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.t1v.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>T1V<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/gsuite.google.com\/jamboard\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Google Jamboard <\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ciscospark.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Cisco Spark<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000;\">When you go to those sites, you will see words and phrase such as:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Visual collaboration software<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Virtual workspace<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Develop<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Share<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Inspire<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Design<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Global teams<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #800000;\">A visual collaboration solution that links locations, teams, content, and devices in an immersive, shared workspace <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Teamwork<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Create and brainstorm with others<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Digital workplace platform<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Eliminate the distance between in-office and remote employees <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Jumpstart spontaneous brainstorms and working sessions<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000;\">So using these types of software and hardware setups, I can contribute regardless of where I&#8217;m located.<strong> Remote learning &#8212; from anywhere in the world &#8212; being combined with our face-to-face based classrooms.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Also, the <strong>push for Active Learning Classrooms (ALCs) <\/strong>continues across higher education.<strong> Such hands-on, project-learning based, student-centered approaches fit extremely well with the collaboration setups mentioned above.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Then, there&#8217;s the insight from Simon Dudley\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.logitech.com\/2017\/04\/05\/three-trends-enterprise-connect-2017\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">in this article:<\/a><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong>&#8220;&#8230;video conferencing is increasingly an application within in a larger workflow&#8230;&#8221;<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Lastly, if colleges and universities don&#8217;t have the funds to maintain their physical plants, <strong>look for higher education to move increasingly online<\/strong> &#8212; and these types of solutions could play a significant role in that environment. Plus, for <strong>working adults who need to reinvent themselves<\/strong>, this is an extremely efficient means of picking up some new skills and competencies.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000;\">So the growth of these types of setups &#8212; where the software and hardware work together to support worldwide collaboration &#8212; will likely create a powerful, new, emerging piece of
