It is not a radical concept. It is not a  new-age way of thinking about learning. As Elliott Masie puts it: \u201cWe  are, as a species, blended learners.\u201d So, the blend existed much before  we understood and (re)defined it.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>What  does blended learning mean?<\/strong><br \/>\nThere  are many definitions of blended learning. Some focus on the technology  (aka Internet) and others focus on the theories to be blended. For yet  others, a blend is all about the media \u2013 combination of instructor-led  and elearning. There are a few who only call it a <em>blend<\/em> when  it\u2019s a combination of different types of elearning:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">&#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">&#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">There  are many things to consider before designing a blended learning  intervention for example:<br \/>\n\u2022 The learning outcomes or  objectives<br \/>\n\u2022 The design and content of the course<br \/>\n\u2022 The learner  analysis \u2013 motivation and comfort with multi-media<br \/>\n\u2022 Use of  technology and new media elements<br \/>\n\u2022 The degree of  collaboration\/interaction<br \/>\n\u2022 The degree of feedback and level  of instruction<br \/>\n\u2022 Assessment and evaluation of training<br \/>\n\u2022 The role of  the instructor\/facilitator<\/p>\n<p>To make blended learning a success  think why before you think how.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Make it Blended! &#8212; from Designed for Learning by Taruna Goel Blended learning is not a new thing.
