and I could add several key<br \/>\ntraits\/characteristics that we work on<br \/>\ndeveloping (such as integrity, honesty, work<br \/>\nethic, etc.) &#8212; I wanted to reflect on a question:<br \/>\n<strong>On a regular basis, are we doing <\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>the things to help foster these traits?<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/visual.ly\/employers-identify-top-5-job-skills\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" alt=\"Employers Identify Top 5 Job Skills\" src=\"http:\/\/thumbnails.visually.netdna-cdn.com\/employers-identify-top-5-job-skills_506211abe37e2_w587.jpg\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><em>From DSC:<\/em><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong> At a range between 79%-82%, note how high up the scale the desire is for people who have the ability and willingness to learn new skills!<\/strong>\u00a0 In other words, employers want <em>lifelong<\/em> learners. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000;\">However, if people come out of their K-12 and\/or higher ed experiences and don&#8217;t really enjoy learning in the first place, that&#8217;s going to be hard to deliver on.\u00a0 I continue to suggest that we need to cultivate more of <em>a love of learning<\/em> in students &#8212; <em>giving them more choice, more control to identify and pursue their passions&#8230;.things they WANT to work on.<\/em> If learning is fun, the other things will take care of themselves.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Employers identify top 5 job skills From DSC: Though K-12 and higher ed do more than develop skills &#8212;
