This means that students who complete these five courses can receive college transfer credit at institutions that accept ACE recommendations.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">So, importantly, Coursera\u2019s new credit equivalency doesn\u2019t automatically mean that every university it has partnered with automatically guarantees credit for the approved courses; instead, institutions have the option to accept or decline credit. You can read <a href=\"http:\/\/learn.media.mit.edu\/about.html\">about it<\/a> or skim the <a href=\"http:\/\/learn.media.mit.edu\/course.html\">outline<\/a> to make your own judgment; I\u2019m enjoying the laid-back description, which tracks with my previous massive open online course experience:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><span style=\"color: #800000;\">\u201cThis is a big experiment.
