We are begin\u00adning to look at using the AppleTV in our school as part of our iPad deploy\u00adment but much like the iPads them\u00adselves we are in the posi\u00adtion of try\u00ading to fig\u00adure out how to deploy and man\u00adage a con\u00adsumer device in the enter\u00adprise (schools to all of\u00a0you).<\/p>\n

The rea\u00adson for con\u00adsid\u00ader\u00ading the use of the AppleTV in the class\u00adroom has every\u00adthing to do (for us) with Air\u00adPlay. The abil\u00adity to give any stu\u00addent the oppor\u00adtu\u00adnity to share what they are doing on their device with the class and demon\u00adstrate their learn\u00ading is amaz\u00ading \u2014 – can you say bye-bye Smartboards!<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

This topic directly relates to one of my dreams for our “Smart Classrooms” and learning spaces <\/strong>(and why Steelcase’ MediaScape product is exciting and gaining traction)—\u00a0 to enable students to “play” media from many types of devices (laptops, smart phones, tablets, etc.) without disrupting the flow of the classroom!<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/span>

  3. Apple must address the network, security, and A\/V-related issues for this to really take off in our learning spaces — but if and when they get by these hurdles, amazing results will soon follow!<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
